State College holds a special place in my heart. It's where I received my education in Health Policy and Administration. It's where I met one of my very best friends. It's the connect between Forrest and I that led to us dating... the place where we fell in love. Where we got married. State College is a beautiful place that is tucked away in the middle of Pennsylvania, surrounded by cornfields, grazing livestock and beautiful mountains. The town is made buoyant by the big dreams of the university's students and faculty. There is a peaceful and excited energy about the area.
Forrest and I snuck away for a long weekend. We had so much fun seeing all of our friends at The Cigar Den, going to the local Wing Festival at Mt. Tussey, and hiking through Rothrock State Forest. One of my favorite spots on campus is the pond at the Alumni Center, it's a quiet little grove- home to many ducks, fish and turtles! Of course we made a stop there :) We met up with our good friends Jason and Kristine and chatted excitedly and fervently trying to cram in as much conversation as time would allow. It truly warmed my heart to be surrounded by friends in a place we all hold so dear. Here are a few photos from the trip.
